Note On Fender Decals...

Quite often you may see decals on Ebay etc.. that have a yellow surround around the design. This is not original, and is not correct ! Look at any vintage Fender headstock ( the pics in 'The Fender Book' are a good place - you will see the wood grain all around the logo. ( After all, why would Fender have decals made with yellow around them when some go on painted headstocks, and maple can vary so much in colour ??? ).

The yellowing is from sunlight and age and occurs on original decals that were never applied to guitars. You occasionally get a real applied decal that shows discolouration of the film, but this is rare ! The backing film on all our decals is clear, like the original ones.
